New Glass Painting Project plus Paint Review.
Once again it’s bee a while since our last glass painting newsletter. I haven’t been able to do as much as i would like recently but that has now changed. This week we have a New Glass Painting Project plus Paint Review. Over the next few months we will be updating all the old articles and video as well as rearranging the site. In addition to this I will also be able to get on with my door project. In fact I have two large projects to do, the door and a window. To make it a little more interesting I will be using two different techniques to complete them.
This week we have a new project for you, a new glass paint review and some new free designs. In the near future, in addition to the large projects I have just mentioned we will be having two more paint reviews, yet more free designs and, hopefully, some great news about new products.
Glass Painted Lantern (Faux Stained Glass).
A really nice but quite simple projects based on a glass lantern we purchase at Aldi. (for those in other countries this is a UK shop which occasionally sells things like this quite cheap). Although we bought it some time ago I notice that they have more lanterns in this week. The project was made easier by the fact you can take the glass out of the lantern and work on it flat. The project includes text, video and the designs which are free to download.
Hope you enjoy this project. We have many more coming up in the not too distant future.
Glass Painting Designs.
We have started a new category in our Free Designs section, Birds, Animals and Fish. we will be adding to this regularly over the next few months. You will notice many of our designs are done in green as this makes it easier to see which bits you have and haven’t done when outlining in black. If you find the green colour difficult (which I know some people do) it is quite simple to change using virtually any graphics program.
Pebeo Fantasy Prisme. Glass Paint Review.
Many have been on our newsletter list for a LONG time and will remember the old Rainbow Glass Pearl Paints. Every since they stopped making them we have been looking for a replacement and now with think we’ve found it. Even if you don’t remember the Rainbow Glass Paints I think you will find these ones very interesting. You can achieve some amazing looks with them particularly when you blend more than one colour together on the glass.
Unfortunately we had to close our forum due to spam issues. We do how ever have two places on Facebook. One is a page where we make announcements about the site. The other is a “community” where you can ask questions, share images of your work etc.
If you are on Facebook please do join/like each page. We would like to build them up to be useful resource for Glass Painters.
We do also have a YouTube channel is you’d like to subscribe to it.
Well that about wraps it up for this newsletter. Hope you have enjoyed the New Glass Painting Project plus Paint Review. I will just mention that you will see the words “Faux Stained Glass” creeping onto our site and into the newsletters. Whist here in the UK we tend almost exclusively use the words “Glass Painting”, in other countries the words “Feux Stained Glass” are used quite a lot. I have been told by those who know about these that I should use both if I intend for the site to do well in the search engines! Sorry if you find it confusing but in my mind “Glass Painting” and “Faux Stained Glass” mean the same thing.
