Making your own outliner and more.

A packed newsletter this week. We have articles on making your own outliner plus a project which include four different methods of decorating a jam jar / mason jar.

We have also added more free designs, mainly to the Christmas section as we assume it won’t be long before people are thinking about decorations. Once again we have added colour versions to the gallery. No need to follow our colours exactly but it should give you some ideas and make it more apparent which lines go with which part of the design.

As has become standard on this site this “how to” contains both a video and written instructions.  Personally I still buy my black outliner in bulk but I do use this method for my coloured outliners, gold and silver mostly. There is no reason why you can’t make black this way but I chose not to.

The method is quite simple, if a little messy at times. You should soon have a stock of coloured outliner built up. You can either use these in a piping bag or maybe buy a few empty outlining bottles (or if you have old outliner bottles wash them out and used them).

Email List.

Important Note: It looks as if the “unsubscribe link” hasn’t worked in this mail out. If you want to unsubscribe please just send an email to admin@glasspainting.co.uk and include the email address which you wish to unsubscribe. I will ensure this is sorted before the next newsletter goes out!

We are using a new email system for the first time this week.  There are many benefits to it, the main one for users being it is so easy to unsubscribe if you no longer want to be on the list. Just click the link at the bottom of the email. We hope most people will stay on the list but we really don’t want to bother people with emails if they don’t want them. Hopefully we have moved the email list to the new section correctly but we will only know for sure after this first tryout.

Christmas Glass Painting Designs.

We have added a number of new designs to the Christmas section. They are mainly for use as lightcatchers but you can alter them for other purposes. They each have a colour version along side to give you some ideas.

Glass painting Jam Jars and Mason Jars is great fun and great for reusing packaging which might otherwise be thrown away. This is a long article with 2 video. They show 4 different ways of decorating Mason Jars/Jam Jars all using thick peelable waterbased glass paints.

Will will do another article shortly explaining more techniques but this time using flowing/solvent based glass paints.

Glasspainting.co.uk Shop.

We’ve never really set out to sell anything, just to provide information on glass painting. However we have decided to stock a few items which glass painters may have difficulty getting hold of. For now this will just be for UK based glass painters but we may expand that in the future. Currently you will just find the Adhesive Glass Painting Film in the shop. Over the next few weeks we intend to develop it into a proper shopping cart and will be adding more items so watch this space 🙂

Well that is about it for this week. We have lots of great content coming up for you. At long last I have everything put together for my front door project so hopefully, as soon as everyones returned to school and the house is quiet, I will be able to get that filmed!

Happy Crafting.

Yours, Bob.
