Well it’s been a few weeks since we had a newsletter. We’re back this week with two projects both picture frames. The first is a standard type of picture frame and the second is a “scrapbooking” style frame. Glass painting picture frames is great fun and they can make great presents.
Both of these frames have been made using very basic clip style frames. They are 11 x 14 inch in size but you can of course use any size you wish. We hope to make more different styles of picture frame in the not too distant future so watch this space.

Glass Painting Picture Frames Celtic Style.
This is a very traditional design which you can download off the project page. Also on the page you will find written instructions plus the usual video. As with most of our projects you don’t have to stick to our design, the techniques are transferable. Celtic designs are very popular so if you want help with them we recommend the program below. This can be used for picture frames and other glass painted items.

Knotter
If you are glass painting picture frames or any other Celtic style glass painting you may well find this FREE program “Knotter” helpful. Now this isn’t our program and is downloaded from a different website . I have downloaded and used it (I did run a virus check and in was OK). You don’t have to install the program, just download it, unzip it and then double click. In addition to the download link we are also giving a link to a short tutorial on Knotter which we did on our sister site.

Scrapbooking Style Picture Frame.
The theory behind these frames is you design one to celebrate a particular day or event. In addition to the photos you add design elements which reflect that day/event. These could be some wording, a date, images or a mixture of all three. In our example we are celebrating a young girls forth birthday so we included the words “Happy Birthday”, the number “4” and a few balloons. I assume your design will differ from ours (unless you also have a 4th Birthday to celebrate) but we suggest you include element which make it very clear what the frame is about.
As normal our tutorial includes both written instructions and a video.
