Glass Painted Clock: Fish Designs
This is a lovely clock project by Alan Gear from Rainbow Glass (Alan and Barrys Crafts). The project uses Rainbow Glass Extra Thick film which isn’t currently available so this should be substituted by Perspex (Plexiglass) which should be of a cutable thickness. The paints used is this are Rainbow Glass Pearlised Glass Paints which are solvent based but as these are no longer available they can be substituted by either a flowing waterbased or solvent based glass paint. The techniques used in this video remain the same.
We have had a lot of interest in this project. Unfortunately since Rainbow Glass stopped trading it has been difficult to get hold of the items used. The actual base of the clock can be made from a sheet of Perspex. Virtually any glass paint can be used. Fred Aldous do stockk glass paints which are exactly the same as the old Rainbow Glass ones. There pearl only comes in white but you can mix it with the transparents to make any pearl colour you need (50/50).
