Well we are back with more free designs for glass painters. We have received a few email comments about these so we are hoping to change how we present them in the next few weeks. For as many as possible we will include a simple colour copy alongside the basic design.
This will give you some ideas on how they can be painted. Obviously you don’t have to stick to our ideas but sometimes it is really hard to work out what is stem and what is leave, what is part of the dolphin and what is part of the sea! We can’t start this immediately (with the exception of the example you can see here) but will bring it in soon and hopefully go back and colour some of the old designs.

Both outlining and painting 3d objects can be remarkably difficult. Whilst there’s nothing to help you with the painting in this article (there was in a previous article which you can read HERE) there is a neat little trick to help you with the outlining. It’s very simple and if you aren’t already doing it you’ll wonder why!

As said above, in future we are going to try and ensure that as many of our designs as possible come with a colour version. However for this week we just have the normal range of templates. You may have seen some of this weeks designs before but we have “redone” them and cleaned them up.

Review of Pebeo Vitrail Glass Paint.
Been meaning to do this for a little while. Have been using quite a bit of Pebeo paint lately. and whitst we’ve already completed reviews on the Fantasy Prism and Fantasy Moon, this is the first review we’ve ever published for the Transparent Vitrail. Have to say I wasn’t 100% happy with it but now I have a better idea of it’s quirks I will be able to take those into account when choosing colours and working with them.

We have been a bit busy over the last couple of weeks with a site redesign. You should find it both “cleaner” and faster. In the near future we intend to sort all the articles out and put them in better categories. Unfortunately we’re having a little trouble in deciding what should go where! Any constructive ideas, please do let us know.
The image on the right is from one of the projects we will be publishing in the very near future, hopefully in time for the next newsletter. Like most people I have mixed feeling about the results of some of my work but I must say I was particularly pleased with this Fish Bowl Project.
