Large and Small Glass Painting Projects.

Large and Small Glass Painting Projects.
Large and Small Glass Painting Projects.

This week we have both large and small glass painting projects. The large project is a window and the small project is a vase. For me this is one of the great things about glass painting, the range of things you can make with the techniques. We realise that people using this site will have a range of experience and we do try and make the projects reflect this.

We always like receiving comments and suggestions so if you do have any please do send them in. Even criticism is good as long as it is constructive 🙂 .

This is another one of those projects which you can adapt to suit your needs/design. Your vase will most probably be a different size to ours and you should change the size of the mosaic pieces to suit.  We used a regimented pattern but you can change this to a more “haphazard” design including different shapes such as triangles and rectangles etc.  If you are doing it this way then you will be best using liquid outliner rather than adhesive lead. There are lots of different choices you can make.

We will be having a completely different vase design in the next newsletter.

Our Online Shop (UK Only).

Well with our brand new online shop we have brought in a few changes.

  1. We have managed to bring the price of the thick and ex-thick films down to £4.99 a pack. We have also removed the multi-buy so you get the best price now even if you only buy one pack.
  2. The price of the clear adhesive film has been reduced to £5.99 a pack.
  3. Postage is now a set price, £3.95 per order. This seems the simplest way of organising it. It does mean postage is more expensive it you buy one item but cheaper for multi-buy.
  4. We have added both coloured adhesive window films and adhesive lead to the products. We think we have managed to source both of these at a very competitive price. Stocks and ranges are limited but we will be building both of these up. (Don’t worry the shopping cart will automatically mark anything “out of stock” when it runs out. We have no intension of selling stock we don’t have!).

We intend to increase the range of products available over the coming months. As with the films we will always try and keep the prices as low as we can. This includes reducing prices as we are able to source better prices ourselves.

Window Project (Window Film and Adhesive Lead).

So this is a very strange glass painting project as it doesn’t actually use any glass paint at all. What it does use is adhesive lead and coloured adhesive window film to decorate a window “in-situ”. As with many of our projects you will want to change it to suit your needs. Your window will be a different size and I’m sure you will want to have your own input on the design. I went for something a bit “art Deco”, a style I particularly like. The design I used is available on the site so you can use it as a starting point if you wish. Often the coloured window film will be used together with glass paints (as in the previous door and window projects and even the vase above) but we though we just use the film on it’s own in this project to show you what can be achieved.

Well we hope you like the Large and Small Glass Painting Projects. This brings to end our newsletters for 2017. We think the site has developed well over the last year, it certainly has a lot more content. Over the next 12 months months we would like to improve the quality of the videos, increase the range of projects, increase the range of products in the shop and start a short course. The course will take people step by step from beginning glass painting through to some of the more specialised techniques. Of course all these ideas are subject to change and won’t exclude us from doing other things!

We’d like to thank everyone who has joined the email list, the Facebook groups, left comments, emailed, shared and liked our posts.  We hope you have Happy Holidays and wish you all the best for the coming year.
